Due to the heavy rain we received today the Comal is very murky. The cleanup has been postponed. I will post again when I know the new date.

Happy Labor Day Weekend everyone! Just a reminder that with the drought our waterways and lakes will be extra crowded this weekend making diving especially dangerous. There will be lots of boaters out on every lake, many of them imbibing in adult beverages while operating their watercraft, do not expect them to be paying attention to dive flags. If you absolutely must dive this holiday weekend take the following precautions:
Have a safe Labor Day holiday. Remember NO dive is worth your life. St. Mary’s Hall students are having a river cleanup on September 18th, 2011. We will meet up at 6:45 am on the 18th in front of Duggan Diving, and the plan is to leave Duggan’s at 7:00 am. If you plan to go please post on here no later than Sept. 14th. so I can let Lisa know how many of us will be attending to help out in the effort to clean up the Comal. Come help out a great bunch of students and make the river at more beautiful at the same time! If you are going to be diving Thursday night please comment with your name and a yes on this post. If you do not intend to go,no need to do anything. We will meet everyone who signs up at 7:30PM in the HEB parking lot in front of the Baskin Robbins at IH-35 and FM3009 (see the Schedule page for a map and more info). Remember,it’s your responsibility to either bring your own tank and gear or stop by a shop and rent. The club does not provide tanks or dive gear. As this is a night dive…be sure to bring a dive light Since we had no takers on the CSSP trip we decided to change the venue to Mammoth Lake Scuba Park. We had a blast there last time and there are still many unexplored areas we want to hit. Sign up on the Mammoth Lake Trip page if you want to attend. |
