St. Mary’s Hall River Cleanup-POSTPONED

Due to the heavy rain we received today the Comal is very murky. The cleanup has been postponed. I will post again when I know the new date.

Happy Labor Day Weekend!

Happy Labor Day Weekend everyone! Just a reminder that with the drought our waterways and lakes will be extra crowded this weekend making diving especially dangerous. There will be lots of boaters out on every lake, many of them imbibing in adult beverages while operating their watercraft, do not expect them to be paying attention to dive flags. If you absolutely must dive this holiday weekend take the following precautions:

  • Always have a dive buoy out when you are diving.
  • Surface as close to the shoreline as possible to avoid boating traffic.
  • If you must surface away from shore use your safety sausage! (if you don’t have a safety sausage you should get one)
  • If you become separated from your dive buddy head for the shoreline and surface as close to the shore as possible.
  • Temperatures this weekend are expected to stay in the 100′s through Sunday and 93 on Monday…stay hydrated and wait til you are ready to get in the water before putting your wetsuit on. Heatstroke is no JOKE!
  • Plan your dive, and make sure do dive your plan.

Have a safe Labor Day holiday. Remember NO dive is worth your life.

Change of venue

Since we had no takers on the CSSP trip we decided to change the venue to Mammoth Lake Scuba Park. We had a blast there last time and there are still many unexplored areas we want to hit. Sign up on the Mammoth Lake Trip page if you want to attend.
